means Water Shiatsu. It
was created in California in the eighties
by Harold Dull
exploring Zen Shiatsu moves and stretches in the warm waters
at
Harbin Hot Springs. Watsu®
is now offered worldwide in spas, rehabilitation clinics
and private pools, as a powerful modality for healing trauma,
injuries, stress and
as
a deeply nourishing and relaxing
massage treatment.
Watsu®
®
is done in body-temperature warm water.
The
client is being held, face above surface, ears below surface,
relaxing, while gently swirled around, stretched and massaged
by the Angel of Water.
The support water provides, takes the weight of the vertebrae
and allows the spine
to be moved in ways impossible on land. The warm water’s
therapeutic benefits and
its
freeing of gravity's pull, make it
an ideal modality for healing to happen on all levels.
Gentle
twists and pulls relieve the pressure a rigid spine places
on nerves, and helps undo dysfunction this pressure causes
in the body. Our bodies are
more than 80% water, we naturally strive to flow
to function optimally, We are Water Beings!.

Water
Dance:
Is like
Watsu®
Massage.
It begins with you being held, moved and relaxed above surface,
then given nose clips to gradually gently, go entirely under
the water surface. Once freed from the bounds of head support
you can completely let go, dive deep into relaxation, move
and let yourself release in literally unlimited ways.
It's queit and you only hear your heart beat! Liquid warmth
caressing your skin, Shiatsu Massage pressure points and
deep breath, sends energy through your now
Fluid Body.
Dolphin
like movements, snake rolls, somersaults, inversions, aikido
and dance moves are just a few elements of this very creative,
deep and beautiful Aquatic Therapy.

healing effects of Water Dance:
include
physical, mental and emotional release, as well as it may
induce deep states of
relaxation, self-realization, meditation
and bliss.

Water
Yoga: Practicing
Yoga in warm water
makes for a safe, soothing and complete workout. Ninaya's
water yoga classes and private sessions begin with
cardio swimming, then Ai-chi and Yoga vinyasa (moves
synchronized with the breath).

Utilizing the wall and floats to do more classical
poses, stretching and strengthening using the waters
support and resistance. It’s relaxing, refreshing
and fluid fun.
In
the water one has to ground down through the feet
and core muscles to be stable and be able to flow
gracefully in and out of the poses, and keep the form.
Sessions
end with a floating savasana, resting blissfully on
floats or partnered up, held in a basic Watsu®
move.

Aqua Natal:
is Water Fitness
Classes and Private Sessions for Mothers to be.
Aqua
Natal® was created by renowned midwife Marina Alzugaray,
blending natural birth education with yoga, dance and aquatic
exercise. It's safe and soothing exercise, that culminates
with a floating massage relaxation meditation.
Explore
moves that prepares for an easier birth, learn new
ways to connect with your partner and your baby. Ninaya
also offers Pre-Natal Table Massage, using
a pillow bolster.

Aquatic Bodywork Sessions with Ninaya are $100/hour

Waters Wellness Center, a
private sanctuary in Santa Barbara, with a chemical free,
salt-system out door pool. (Out-Call sessions and water
fitness classes at your own private pool or jacuzzi, temperature
at 96°, can be arranged.)
